Cougar Half Marathon
The Cougar Run Half Marathon is one of two new additions to the 2012 Dirt Devil Racing calendar! Check out the Wild Horse Half Marathon for the other great, new event.
If you are unfamiliar with San Diego trails, Penasquitos Canyon Preserve is one of the best known trail systems in San Diego County. It is a fantastic place to get in a lot of miles all on great trails. If you are familiar with Penasquitos Canyon, you are in for a treat with this event. The Cougar Run Half Marathon will take you off the primary out and back trails that most runners use and expose you to parts of this park that even experienced trail runners haven’t seen!

Course Description:
This event will start from the Camino del Sur trailhead and lead you through some of Los Penasquitos Preserve’s best trails. There will be a combination of fire road and single track with some solid climbs and descents.

Course Cut-Off: The course cut-off time is 3 hours. No finisher awards will be given for any racer not completing the course within 3 hours.

Aid Stations: Aid stations will be well stocked with Electrolyte Drink, 2nd Surge Energy Gels and water. Exact locations and type of electrolyte drink will be announced soon.
It is highly recommended that all runners carry at minimum a hand bottle for hydration.

Directions to the Start: The race start will be at the Camino Del Sur trail head of Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve . You can use this map (http://bit.ly/n7RT9T) to get directions.
Parking: Parking will be throughout the neighboring community. Please respect the neighborhood by being quiet when you arrive and be sure to arrive early to account for the time it will take to walk to the trail head. Please carpool if at all possible.

Unless you have paid for race day packet pickup, ALL packets must be picked up from the San Diego Running Institute during the packet pickup hours.
MANDATORY Race Day Check-In: All race participants MUST check in on race morning. Failure to check in prior to starting the race will result in automatic disqualification. Race check in begins at 6AM.
Post-Race Party: Dirt Devil Racing will be teaming with a local brewery or restaurant for another great post-race party and awards ceremony. The party will start at 11AM with awards announced shortly after. Come join us for some great beer and food and for a chance to hang out with your fellow competitors. We will have our partnered location announced soon!
Prizes: All participants will receive a technical race shirt and an outstanding finisher’s medal! For prizes provided to Overall and Age Group Winners please see the Race Prizes page.
Refund/Transfer Policy: Refunds, minus $10 cancellation fee, will be offered until 4/29/12. No refunds will be given after this date.
