Course Description: This local San Diego 5K and 10K runs through Marion Bear Park right in the heart of San Diego. The race starts at Marion Bear Park parking area on the West side of Clairemont Mesa Blvd directly South of Highway 52. The 5K is a flat and fast out-n-back course consisting of a mix of single track, double track, and about 150 yds of road. The 10K is also a mix of single track, double track, and about 150 yds of road. The 10K course will have some technical sections as well as 2-3 creek bed crossings. These will most likely be dry but will have loose rocks. The course will start with a small loop, approx 1 mile, and then become an out-n-back.

Aid Stations: There will be two aid stations for the 10K. They will be located at approximately miles 2.5 and 4.75. Aid stations will be stocked with water and electrolyte drink. It is HIGHLY recommended that 10K runners carry, at a minimum, a hand bottle.

Attention Barefooot Enthusiasts!! You are welcome to participate in this event in any choice of footwear you are most comfortable in. However, if you are intending to run this race in Vibram Fivefingers, barefoot-style shoes, minimalist shoes, or barefoot, we strongly encourage you to pre-run the course. There is a significant amount of rock along this route that you will want to be familiar with prior to running in this type of footwear. We want you to enjoy this event so please make sure you know what you are getting in to!
Directions to Start: From Interstate 5 take highway 52. Exit at Clairemont Mesa Blvd/Regents road. Go South on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. and make an immediate right into the Parking area.

Packets must be picked up from the San Diego Running Institute. If, for any reason, you can not make it to packet pickup please contact Paul, paul@sdri.net, as soon as possible to make arrangements.
MANDATORY Race Day Check-in: All race participants MUST check in on race morning. Failure to check in prior to starting the race will result in automatic disqualification. Race check in begins at 6AM.
Post-Race Celebration and Awards Ceremony: The post-race party and awards ceremony will be hosted by Bay Hill Tavern and beer will be provided by our sponsor, Airdale Brewing Company. Prizes: ALL runners will receive a commemorative BEER GLASS with race logo and date of event. These collectors glasses are the 2nd of the set runners can earn. By completing All 4 Dirt Devil Grand Slam Events, runners can earn a set of all 4 glasses and Grand Slam award.
To be eligible for the Grand Slam points series and the cash/prizes that go with it, you must participate in the Sidewinder 10K race as well as the Coyote 5K, Stairway to Heaven 15K and the Raptor Ridge Half.

Refund/Transfer Policy: Refunds, minus $10 cancellation fee, will be offered until 6/3/12. No refunds will be given after this date.
