This awesome race takes place at beautiful Lake Hodges about 30 minutes north of downtown San Diego. While San Diego is known for its beach towns it also has a few gorgeous lakes in close proximity.
The Foxy Half Marathon and 5K is the first of 4 races in a series. While it is not necessary to run the entire series it can be rewarding for those that do. You can run all 4 half marathons or you can sign up for the Progressive Series starting with the Foxy 5K, 2 months later the Wildhorse 10K, 2 months later the Raptor Ridge 15K and finally the Chupacabra Half Marathon in October! Runners who complete either series will earn the coveted stainless Steel Mike Hess Brewing Company Beer Growler.
Runners in all events will receive a quality technical fabric race logo shirt, logo mug and custom medal. All events are sponsored by Mike Hess Brewing, Milestones Running Company and Movin Shoes so there are also cool race prizes.
Runners will begin at Rancho Bernardo Community Park and make their way to the suspension bridge that crosses over Lake Hodges. The trail takes them on a mixture of double track and scenic single track trail around the lake. The trail is an out and back course with runners finishing at Rancho Bernardo Community Park under a Gazebo.
The finish area is well stocked with electrolyte recovery hydration, water and beer provided by Mike Hess Brewing. A local Boy Scout troupe is on site serving a delicious breakfast
